About The Sparacia Family
As first and second generation Italians growing up in Brooklyn, NY, our family all lived within a five city block area. We spent holidays, birthdays, and every Sunday together.
After years of our brothers and sisters pursuing their lives, careers, and raising their own families, we have all come together and planted a vineyard and are building a winery in Florida!
Our sister has been teaching at Pasco-Hernando State College for many years. Our brother has retired from the Port Authority of NY & NJ Police Department, and our older brother, has been in the wine industry since college in the 1960s.
The first grapes of the vineyard were planted on Easter Sunday, 2016, by our family, many of whom were present at the Sunday dinners years ago!
The Sparacia Witherell Family Winery Story
Sparacia Witherell Family Winery & Vineyards is located in western Florida. In the historic city of Brooksville. Our winery and vineyards are located on one of the highest elevations in the State of Florida at 275 feet above sea level. We enjoy sultry breezes off the Gulf of Mexico; where we grow native Muscadine (Vitis Rotundifolia) and Hybrid varieties of wine grapes. Our Family practices Biodynamic farming methods in our vineyards; and we have a policy of minimal intervention and sustainable agricultural methods to preserve the environment and insure the complex flavors that make each vintage unique.
